My G period will receive their PR's tomorrow. The standard rule is that anyone with below a 70% average must get the PR signed by a guardian and return it to school.  &lt;br /&gt;Algebra test are over and NECAP begins tomorrow. &lt;br /&gt;Students started a full formal lab yesterday and we will finish next week due to the testing. Students completed three worksheets that myself and Mrs. Morse collected. &lt;br /&gt;On Monday the Save the Bay staff has asked our group to participate in a educational video and our Monday students have taken home waivers for parents to sign so that the video team may tape the children in action performing the activities. One of MY students your children had a wow moment and commented that now they know what an amplifier is and why it works. Since there a many blank spaces on this table students have been offered the opportunity to sign up and create a poster to fill one of the empty spaces. One everyone from all 5 classes has had a chance to sign up for one of the blank spaces students who wish to create a second poster may sign up for a second element. Tomorrow is the last class day that will be devoted to research and the books go back to the library. Student will then be allowed to search the internet for sources now that they have some vocabulary to search with. The research paper is due on 2/13/09.&lt;br /&gt;2/4/09 Due Friday 13. February. Students must have 4 sources, at least 3 book and 1 internet, this is the minimum.&lt;br /&gt;One full page MLA format is 1" margins and #12 times new roman font and the works cited page. Again this is the minimum.&lt;br /&gt;2/3/09 Student began the research project February 2, on Global Warming. Students have been instructed to choose a topic that addresses what causes global warming and what transfer of energy is involved. This report will be due next week weather pending. The report will only be one full page, MLA format with a works cited page for resources. Grading rubric has been passed out to all students. This means A+'s to F's.&lt;div&gt;HW, homework, tonight is a reading for the global warming project, students have been instructed to read this article and answer 5 questions in complete sentences. As a class we went over the lab step by step and all students were instructed to rewrite their lab reports for a better grade. Even students who did not write a lab were given one last chance to earn some grade. Students have until the end of the week to rewrite this lab, then the grade will be permanent.&lt;div&gt;Tomorrow, 1/6, students finish collecting data for the Liquid Density Lab and the lab report is due Friday 1/9. Students have been reminded that any portion of the lab they do not complete will result in an incomplete F. All students have received a copy of the lab report rubric and are expected to follow this rubric to accomplish a passing grade. It is the understanding that during 2nd trimester parents and student will be able to access grades on line. As you have seen from the first &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_1"&gt;pre&lt;/span&gt;-lab quiz you must read the entire lab sheet. You must know what the lab is about, why we are doing this lab (standards) what materials we must use and the procedures.&lt;div&gt;        Another thing you should have learned from the last &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_2"&gt;pre&lt;/span&gt;-lab is that reading the lab sheet once quickly is not enough to answer the &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_3"&gt;pre&lt;/span&gt;-lab questions and &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_4"&gt;receive&lt;/span&gt; a passing grade. Starting Monday we begin 2 big labs on density. Have your lab report rubrics and your data table rubric ready to use. Remember the worksheets on Reading Different Scales, I will expect very precise readings on all lab equipment. You will also have to calculate the density of many unknown materials and be able to identify each material by it's density.
